The art of freezing time

my philosophy

I’m Emily, a mom of three and a former elementary school teacher, which means I’m genuinely comfortable around kids and unfazed by big feelings, short attention spans, or a little chaos. I truly enjoy children and see them for who they are, not who they are supposed to be for a photo. My philosophy is simple. The best images happen when we give kids the freedom to be themselves. The movement, the laughter, the curiosity, the in-between moments. That is where the most beautiful photographs live.

I also know how easy it is to put family photos off for another season. Life is full, outfits feel like a lot of pressure, and let’s be honest, even my own kids tend to act a little extra the moment a camera comes out. That is completely normal. You do not need perfect behavior or a perfectly coordinated family to create images you love. You just need an experience that feels calm, supportive, and thoughtfully guided.

I take a gentle, patient approach that allows your family to relax while still ensuring we create stunning, timeless images. I will guide when needed, step back when it matters, and always keep the focus on connection rather than perfection. Parents often tell me they are surprised by how many beautiful photos are in their gallery, even when the session itself felt playful and imperfect. I promise, you will walk away with images that feel elevated, honest, and deeply meaningful.

show up, love on your people, and I’ll worry about the rest.

Let me guess. If you pulled out your phone right now, you probably have hundreds, maybe thousands, of photos and videos of your kids. You have the rare “everyone-looking-at—and-smiling-at-the-camera moments”, and so many videos of dad tossing them on the couch, wrestling on the floor, or starting an impromptu dance party. But when you scroll back through your camera roll, how many flattering photos do you have of you with all of your babies together? Not selfies. Not blurry screenshots. Actual photos where you feel good about how you look and where you are fully in the frame.

I know that feeling well. I think most moms do. Wanting more photos with your kids, but not always knowing how to ask for them or feeling awkward handing someone your phone. That is exactly why, in every family session, I intentionally leave time for photos with mom. I will make sure you have both smiling and candid images with all of your babies, and each child individually. Photos where you are present, relaxed, and beautifully included. These are the images your children will treasure someday, and the ones that will make your heart sing when you see them.

Book Your Family Session

family sessions

Have you ever looked across the kitchen at your spouse and thought, “Wait. We have three kids. When did that happen?” Time moves fast and kids change even faster. A family session gives you a pause in the middle of it all and proof of this season that you will be grateful to have.

And when Christmas card season rolls around, everyone will think you have it together. Your secret is safe with me.

This is up to a one hour session. Plenty of time for real moments, a few portraits, and a snack break if needed. Sessions begin at $300.

WHAT I OFFER

Pregnancy comes with a lot. The excitement. The nerves. The heartburn. And somehow you are still growing an entire person while living your regular life.

Believe it or not, this season will feel like a blur and might even be hard to remember later. One day your child will ask about this time, and these photos will help you look back at how amazing this season of life truly was.

WHAT I OFFER

Let's Capture This Season

Newborn life is wild. It is beautiful and slow and somehow you are still Googling “is this poop normal” at two in the morning. A newborn session gives you proof of this season before it turns into the one you look back on and barely remember.

We go at baby’s pace. Feeding, burping, outfit changes, diaper blowouts. All of it is part of the story and none of it is a disruption. These sessions include more time so your baby can lead and you can breathe.

Extended family sessions do not happen often. Getting everyone in the same place at the same time is its own accomplishment. These sessions give you photographs with grandparents, siblings, cousins, and the people who shaped the family you are raising.

We will photograph the whole group, the smaller family units, and a few candid moments along the way. These are the photographs that become more valuable as time moves on because getting everyone together only gets harder. Getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time is just a bonus.
